Dawn - Happy Birthday Homer!!!!!!

rajeana & cody. (wedding.)

oh where oh where to even start with this post. we’re so happy to finally be showing you all these images (and i know jeana and her mom have been waiting so patiently, so i’m not going to make them wait one second longer!) you may remember rajeana & cody from their blog post, which just so happen to be some of our favorite images…from within the first FEW seconds of meeting these two, we knew there was something special there. and are you kidding me with her smile and blue eyes?! we made the drive down to the wonderfully fun, cute, and most charming town of maysville, kentucky (shout out to maysville!) for their wedding (which is where they are both from…and how fun is this, they both went to the school at the same place which also happened to be the church, and is where nearly the whole bridal party was from as well). i must also mention that i love small towns. i love the charm, i love all the great little finds, i love how everyone knows everyone else. this is a true story…we took them out on the bridge that connects ohio & kentucky, and amidst all the cars and passer-by’s, i’m pretty positive that EVERY single car was shouting out “OH rajeana, you look beautiful!” or “HEY, see you at the reception!” small towns are fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

ANYWAYS…another reason we love these two so much is that they genuinely wanted us to be there and a part of their day. they decided to do a “first look” and they set aside time both before AND after the ceremony to allow robbie and i to do what we do. thank you for allowing and TRUSTING us and WANTING us to do what we do.

AND, because, i know they’re anxiously waiting to see a little preview…here you go you guys…much love and happiness always. BIG GIANT HUGS. and lots of love.

cody…i must say, you are one of the nicest people we’ve ever met. thanks for being so awesome.

first look time. (i’ll admit a secret, i’m (lauren) the most nervous during this moment, but i so LOVE the images that come from this time.)

๐Ÿ™‚

small towns have the greatest nooks.

Margie Bowie - I don’t know quite where to start but I am not at a loss for words! Rajeana and Cody’s wedding pictures are simply amazing! I have looked at them for hours and have cried, laughed, been in total awe and remembered! Thank you so much for incorporating that old bridge in the pics. Rajeana’s Dad loved that bridge and his ashes were spread directly below it 7 years ago. It let me have a part of him with me on such a joyous day! Also the diamond necklace that she wore was one I had made for her out of my wedding rings and I love the pictures captured of it. Even the garter was worn by myself nearly 30 years ago when I married her Dad. You have won yourself a place in this family’s heart! Love you both!!!!!

Lynn Glass - What a beautiful ceremony for such a beautiful couple!! So happy for you guys. Sad we missed the wedding but are thinking of you often. So happy you have Robbie and Lauren document the occasion!! The pics are AWESOME as always!! Love it!!

Soundtrack of Life

Life undeniably gives us moments of loneliness; moments when music is all we have as a form of coping, engaging, and healing. The inverse is also true whereby music encapsulates the most magical feelings and expressions of joy. For me, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have been such a huge source of refuge and enjoyment. In fact, I’m listening to them while I write this. It is with a heavy heart that I imagine their music now without Clarence Clemons. He was a mammoth man with a powerful yet tender presence. If ever there was an icon of music that was a genius in plain sight, it was Clarence Clemons. Bruce himself said Clarence’s passing is immeasurable…

One of my proudest moments as a photographer was having the opportunity to photograph a performance a couple years ago for Bruce Springsteen and the Backstreets fan club. The entire day was a dream and an honor that I’ll never forget.

Thank you, Clarence, for being part of one of my best days; you will be missed.
