it’s always such a trip for us to see families grow.
we first met this sweet girl when she was just a tiny, and amazingly beautiful baby. she’s now just as beautiful, running around, and chatting up a storm (mostly about “the little mermaid”).
i’d also like to add that these images are some of my most favorite family images i’ve ever taken. i just posted an image on instagram last night of a dog, her name is rosie. i wrote underneath the image that, “this is how WE do family sessions” her eyes are closed, and her tongue is out. some people might look at that and think, “oh, that’s an edit, get rid of it, you can’t see her eyes, it’s not cropped correct, blah, blah.” to robbie and i, it’s the most perfect example of how WE photograph a family.
families are messy haired kids, shirts un-tucked, shoes untied. families are doggies with their eyes closed, and tongues out. families are gritty in the best way possible and that is how WE photograph families. i think sometimes parents can get caught up with wanting things to be “perfect” (by the way, what the HECK does that even mean?!). they have a vision, and i’ll be the very first one to admit, having a vision is a great thing! it’s just that sometimes, the images that make you smile the most aren’t the ones you envisioned.
this session, to robbie and i, is every single one of those things.
and in the greatest way possible it makes us so exceptionally proud.
meggie & bernardo, you guys ROCK. and sweet evelyn, thanks for keeping us on our toes.
