megan and steve. the wedding.

megan & steve might have the greatest smiles of all time. ๐Ÿ™‚

since we had such a FUN time at their engagement session last fall, we knew their wedding would not disappoint!

they picked the cutest little lake in michigan for both the ceremony & reception, which was full of fun details from all of megan & steves travels.

and…they opted for a first look (which was SO sweet) and it allowed us a good amount of time for lots of portraits and gave us another excuse to explore around the lake!

like their cute cake topper read, it really was the “best day ever.”

congrats again you guys! lots of love & happiness, now & always! thanks so much for asking us to document your big happy day!

betsy, tom and mirabelle.

hi everyone!

robbie and i are pretty excited to share this session with you all. it’s this tiny babe’s first time appearing on our blog! we photographed her when she was just teeny tiny in her mama’s belly!

we’ve said it once before, but let it be known again, photographing families (especially this one) in an environment that is so familiar and comfortable to them is one of our favorite things. it feels so special that we get to step into their space, even for just a few hours, and make these memories that will last forever. robbie and i take a bit of a different approach to newborn sessions, for us, it’s about the family too, and these images make us proud to have a style that is a little bit different.

we spent some time with betsy, tom and mirabelle a few weeks back when she was just a few days old. she didn’t fuss a bit. ๐Ÿ™‚

we also had some time to photograph some of her nursery details; which are amazing and *SO* betsy! there are a lot of DIY projects, antique store finds and family heirlooms in her space…and even a wonderful book corner!

betsy, tom and miss mirabelle…we think the world of you guys, and we couldn’t be happier as your family grows. thank you for letting us freeze this moment in time for you guys…can’t wait for the next time!

lots and lots of love.

moments like this make my heart nearly explode. such a happy new family.

our image of rosie the dog even made it into mirabelle’s room! the portrait of betsy’s parents is also such a fun touch! (i think the toddler on the tractor is besty’s mom when she was little, how fun!)

sarah & phil. the wedding.

you all might remember sarah & phil from their engagement session last fall in an apple orchard. we were so excited for their wedding, that as the image below describes was “a wedding 7 years in the making”. how fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

it was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL spring day for their ceremony which took place in the butterfly gardens at the indianapolis zoo followed by dinner and dancing outside as well!

we had a blast walking around the city getting some FUN shots with their bridal party…and taking advantage of all the great spots in downtown indy.

a big giant “congrats!” to sarah & phil…we wish you guys nothing but love & happiness!

first looks…gosh, we love when couples opt for these. seeing the look on sarah’s face says it all! ๐Ÿ™‚

such a great group of friends sarah has!

this is phil’s niece. she’s about the cutest thing ever.

their ceremony was awesome. they were married by a family friend and it was filled with tons of laughter and some tears. ๐Ÿ™‚

mr. & mrs.

sarah…you’re stunning.

kelsey & jon. (and charles the dog)

so…this fun session turned from just a regular ol’ session into a SURPRISE proposal! fun, right?

jon contacted us and said, “i want to surprise kelsey; she thinks we’re just going to do a lifestyle session…but really i want to propose!”

uh, it took us about .04 seconds to respond “YES!”

we had a blast with them, and their cute dog charles…and we couldn’t be happier for them as they take this fun journey together!

congrats again you guys.

stacey & matt. the wedding.

our first wedding of the 2014 season had us traveling down to the great city of atlanta, georgia. first, let me just say, i now GET why people live in the south…it was the first week of march and it was 73 degrees outside. this girl (pointing back at myself) loves the sun.

ok, so with that out of the way, now onto the wedding!

stacey & matt chose the beautiful callonwolde fine arts center, which is this great mix of gardens, with amazing old architectural details, fantastic floor to ceiling windows, wonderful pieces of art, in the city, but tucked into the woods all at the same time. the whole day was filled with twists on classic details, great friends, family from all over the country and laughter!

they opted for a first look, which also gave us time to walk around and really get a sense of just how lovely the estate was. we really do love it when couple decide to do a first look!

matt’s family is pretty special to us, and we were so honored & excited that he & stacey asked us to document their big day.

lots of love to you…we wish you nothing but love & happiness.
